LEVELING LINCOLN

(Previously Without Incident) is a documentary film of the children who lived the history behind the landmark desegregation case of Taylor vs. Board of Education of New Rochelle, New York - 1961.  We are seeking to cover preproduction costs and travel for our interviews with this short drive.

"Leveling Lincoln" explores the many incidents and struggles and steps towards integration by focusing on the lives of real humans that lived this pivotal part of history.  This was the first case in the North, seven years after Brown vs. The Board of Education, where an entire elementary school had to be torn down to achieve a level playing field in education.  It took three years after the ruling to put busing in place and then tear down the school.  In their own words, we will hear the stories of the High School Classes of 1976 and 1977 as they reflect on being part of a social experiment that began on their first days of kindergarten after state sponsored busing was instituted.
